Luminescence Chamber Singers
Saturday 18 April 2026, 10.30am
St John’s Anglican Church,
6-12 Church Street Wagga Wagga
Light, as every photographer and physicist knows, is elusive. It strikes like a particle, but moves like a wave; emanates in straight lines, yet drapes the world in beauty. Light is the ultimate ephemera; it can’t be bottled, only felt, remembered, or experienced blazingly new. Particles of Light sees light in the sound of six voices, in radiant vocal music that glimmers, refracts and fractures into colour, from the ‘light tales’ of Elena Kats-Chernin to the dawning of Nardi Simpson’s Yarrager Mayraa. Join Luminescence Chamber Singers as they take the stage for a joyful celebration of their founding metaphor: how singing illuminates.
"Luminescence has established itself not as a group, or an organisation, or an act – although it is all these things. Luminescence, like its namesake in nature, is a phenomenon." Canberra City News, June 2025
Luminescence Chamber Singers is a 6-piece vocal ensemble based on Ngunnawal country (Canberra). Luminescence has emerged as one of Australia’s most dynamic ensembles. Equally at home in new music and renaissance polyphony, Luminescence champions the unbound expressive potential of our original instrument: the human voice.
Presented in partnership with Wagga Anglican.
This performance is included in the Festival Pass and the Saturday Pass.
For goosebumps delivered in perfect harmony.
